The Byron Group

Alan Moses
Managing Director

The Byron Group is a leading healthcare and engineering business providing solutions for emergency patients, the disabled and elderly.

The business operates under several brands including Emergency Transport Technology (ETT) which is the leading designer and manufacturer of ambulances in Australia, DHS which specialises in design and manufacture of pre-hospital equipment including ambulance stretchers, and Accessible Transit Specialists (ATS) which provides vehicle conversions for the disabled and elderly. Most recently Emergency Resource Management (ERM) has commenced development of hardware and software applications for control and data management of emergency vehicles.

The Group’s design and engineering capabilities were born in the Aviation sector in design, manufacture and maintenance of aircraft interior parts and components. In addition, the Group designs and manufactures heavy vehicles for clients in Defense, Mining and Aviation industries.

The business was founded in 1963, with the Wolseley investment in May 2010 replacing the shareholdings of the founders. Wolseley invested alongside Managing Director Alan Moses, who has led the business for over 20 years, and has worked with Alan to bolster the management team with further senior operational and financial resources. The core business is in Australia with operations based in Milperra, Sydney and also in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Organic growth opportunities are being pursued in Australia both through replication of business units in states outside NSW and through innovative product technologies in existing and related sectors. Further opportunities are being explored in key international markets such as the Middle East and Asia.

Wolseley Private Equity is represented on the Board of The Byron Group by Mark Richardson (Chairman), Angus Stuart (Director), and Michael Murphy (Director).
